I'm back on Skye in a couple of weeks, there won't be a Talisker distillery tour again as I did it last year. However a visit to the distillery shop is on the cards for that special something - hopefully they have an interesting bottle for sale, which should be the case this early in the season. I may also venture to the southern end of Skye to check out the Gaelic whisky, who specialise in blends but have big plans for the 2nd distillery on the isle.
Then jumping back across to the east coast of Scotland we're in the land of Dalmore, Glenmorangie, Balblair and who could forget Brora, now represented by Clynelish? I do really want a bottle of Brora and last time I was at the distillery the cask strength Clynelish almost blew my head off, but in a nice way. They may not have many bottles left of the 2009 and 2010 releases so temptation may get the better of me for the Angels' Share series. I may have the opportunity to take one tour, it really depends how things pan out. Most distilleries don't open for tours until April, even then until the summer months its weekdays only.

Fortunately due to family, we're regularly in the region consistently. So I may fail to visit the Ten Men of Tain or the glorious Balblair and the others, but don't fret, as I know I'm lucky enough to have these places on my doorstep and will be back later this year.

April should see some tasting notes from myself. Quite often I'll recommend other blogs for these sorts of things such as Jason's excellent Scotch tasting notes. However due to being in Scotland I have the chance to experience malts that may not be readily be available worldwide, so I'll try and focus on this area more next month, or at least that's the plan!
