New Arrival: Laphroaig Cairdeas Origin
Hot on the heels of Ardbeg day we have the Laphroaig Cairdeas Origin 2012 release. Unlike this year's Ardbeg edition, I've not had the pleasure of tasting this one yet. I'm still trying to slowly erode a couple of opened bottles before doing so, but the mix they've put together for this release is very interesting and the colour!! Wow!!
For now I'll just quote the accompanying notes, as I'm sure legions of Laphroaig fans (500k + now and counting) will be tucking into this if they can. Non-Chill filtered and bottled at 51.2%, which the 1.2 symbolises 2012. Here goes: 'This whisky celebrates 18 years of our Friends of Laphroaig programme. The 2012 bottling combines some of the original liquid used to first create Cairdeas, further matured and complemented with newer Laphroaig spirit that has been fully matured in quarter casks'
