The Dark Hedges nr Ballymoney

Generally attractions are well signposted yet there do seem to be some gems that lack any signs. A great example is The Dark Hedges near Ballymoney, although its actually much nearer a few tiny villages. Despite featuring in the Causeway handouts and other material, you won't find any directions to this wonderful picture opportunity. My advice is keep to the B147 and you cannot miss it just before the golf course.

I think you'll agree keeping with black and white really adds to the atmosphere of these trees which look very sinister. Sadly a few have fallen over or required chopping so its not the perfect lineage you would have seen a few years ago. However what remains is impressive.
