Another sampling for your collections. This week its The Hookers debut single and a track from the superb Dirtys.

The Dirtys - Fuck 7" David Italy Records
The Dirtys were only together for a short time after their appearance in Michigan, but they did manage a storming album and this release on David Italy Records. For a band that burned so brightly, with amazing energy and dynamic force, it was only a matter of time before they imploded and burned out. Youthful energy can only last for so long.

This track is the flipside to the single (the A side being 'It Ain't Easy') and was the second release on the label. The Detroit label also played host to releases from the White Stripes, which I picked up at the time just to fill out the order. Yes, the Dirtys were that good. Enjoy.

The Hookers - Zombie Maker 7" Sack O'Shit Records
Lead track from the Hookers debut single which is as cheap and nasty as the band itself. With a healthy obsession for all things involving satan, complete with B-movie samples and a passion for punk, this equals a great time.

The band were around for sometime, releasing a few LP's and even a release on the Sub Pop Singles Club. Yet after their debut album they went a little too metal and lost my interest, falling into the same trap as Electric Frankenstein and releasing too much. This however is still fantastic (as is the flip) and only 500 were pressed.
